The Ghana Stock Exchange closed on a weak note, with only three stocks gaining, six declining and 32 ending unchanged. About 1.65 million shares were traded during the session.

Digicut Production & Advertising Ltd (DIGICUT) led the gainers, rising 8.33% to GHS 0.39. Kasapreko PLC (KASA) followed with a 1.60% gain to GHS 1.90, while MTN Ghana (MTNGH) edged up 0.88% to GHS 6.86.

MTN Ghana was also the most actively traded stock of the day, with 713,611 shares changing hands.

On the losing side, Dannex Ayrton Starwin PLC (DASPHARMA) recorded the biggest drop, falling 9.70% to GHS 1.21. Trust Bank Ltd (TBL) declined 8.40% to GHS 1.20, while Intravenous Infusions Ltd (IIL) lost 4.55% to GHS 0.63.

Other decliners included Clydestone Ghana (CLYD), down 2.08%, Ecobank Transnational Inc. (ETI), down 1.11%, and SIC Insurance PLC, which slipped 0.19%.

Trading activity was concentrated in a few major names. After MTN Ghana, GCB Bank recorded 306,297 shares traded, while CalBank saw 105,621 shares change hands. Both stocks closed unchanged.

Overall, healthcare stocks were among the weakest performers, while telecoms and consumer stocks provided some support.

For investors, the session shows how individual stocks can still move sharply even when the wider market is quiet. MTN Ghana, Kasapreko and the healthcare counters will be worth watching in the next trading session.
