MTN Ghana Declares Combined GH¢0.06 Dividend Per Share
MTN Ghana shareholders are set to receive a combined second-quarter dividend of GH¢0.06 per share following separate dividend declarations by Scancom PLC and MobileMoney Fintech Limited.
The Board of Scancom PLC declared a gross interim dividend of GH¢0.03 per share for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026.
The Board of MobileMoney Fintech Limited also declared a gross second-quarter dividend of GH¢0.03 per share, payable to shareholders and beneficiaries of the MTN Ghana Fintech Trust.
Together, the two declarations amount to a combined gross dividend of GH¢0.06 per MTN Ghana share, subject to applicable taxes.
Important Dividend Dates
The ex-dividend date for both dividends is Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
Shareholders whose names appear in the company’s register at the close of business on Friday, September 4, 2026, will qualify for the dividends.
The net dividends will be paid on Thursday, September 17, 2026, through shareholders’ registered bank accounts or Mobile Money wallets.
Investors who purchase MTN Ghana shares before the ex-dividend date will be entitled to the dividends. Investors who buy the shares on or after the relevant ex-dividend period will not qualify for the payment.
Scancom PLC’s interim dividend was approved by its Board of Directors on July 30, 2026, while the MobileMoney Fintech Limited dividend was approved on July 22, 2026.
What Shareholders Could Receive
An investor holding 10,000 MTN Ghana shares would be entitled to a combined gross dividend of:
10,000 shares × GH¢0.06 = GH¢600
This consists of GH¢300 from Scancom PLC and GH¢300 from MobileMoney Fintech Limited, before applicable taxes.
The dividend declarations follow MTN Ghana’s strong performance during the first half of 2026, when combined profit after tax increased by 43.3% to approximately GH¢5.1 billion.
The company has also introduced a quarterly dividend framework, giving Scancom PLC and MobileMoney Fintech Limited greater flexibility to return cash to shareholders based on earnings, cash flow and regulatory requirements.
