This was recorded across 967 million transactions, showing a steady increase from the GHS484.6 billion recorded in March 2026.
The latest figures reflect the rapid expansion of Ghana’s digital payments ecosystem as more individuals and businesses rely on mobile money for everyday financial activities such as transfers, bill payments, savings and merchant payments.
The report also revealed that the number of registered mobile money accounts increased significantly. Registered accounts rose to 83 million in April 2026, up from 80.5 million recorded in December 2025.

Interoperability transactions, which allow users to transfer funds across different mobile networks and bank accounts, also recorded growth. The value of interoperability transactions reached GHS5.8 billion across 31.7 million transactions during the month.
Other digital payment channels also posted notable performances in April.
