GCB Bank PLC has officially confirmed June 30, 2026, as the payment date for its 2025 final dividend, marking a significant return to shareholder payouts after a period of regulatory restrictions.

Following approval at its 32nd Annual General Meeting in Accra, the bank will distribute a total dividend of GHS265 million, representing GHS1.00 per share to eligible shareholders. Investors who are on the company’s register by the qualification date will receive the payout at the end of June.

The resolution received strong shareholder backing, with 96.77% voting in favour, an indication of renewed confidence in the bank’s financial position and corporate governance. This also reflects a shift from previous years when dividend payments were halted due to regulatory constraints from the central bank.

The dividend resumption is supported by an impressive 2025 financial performance. The bank recorded a 67.4% increase in operating profit to GHS3.17 billion, while operating income rose by 40.9% to GHS6.3 billion. Total assets expanded by 23% to GHS52.6 billion, alongside a 19.7% growth in customer deposits and a 56.8% surge in its loan book.

On the market front, the bank’s strong fundamentals have translated into substantial investor gains. Its share price rallied from around GHS6 to GHS20 by the close of 2025, cementing its position as one of the best-performing banking stocks on the Ghanaian market.

Looking ahead, GCB is pursuing regional expansion as part of its long-term growth strategy, with plans to explore acquisition opportunities in Liberia and potential entry into The Gambia.
